About Rick and Marilyn

Rick and Marilyn are both from Washington State in the Pacific Northwest.  Their dream was to move to a tropical paradise somewhere in the world.  After exploring, they chose Jaltemba Bay on the beautiful Riviera Nayarit. 

Marilyn says, "The people of Mexico stole our hearts!"  Whenever you talk with Rick or Marilyn you will hear, "Our local neighbors are kind, generous, resourceful, inventive and hard working. And when we need it, they are right here to help."  The Mexican community is supportive of its young people and respectful of their elders.  Family is everything!  Rick and Marilyn call Jaltemba Bay 'home' now.

Both Rick and Marilyn spent many happy hours outdoors in the Pacific Northwest hiking, backpacking, biking, kayaking, skiing and snowshoeing and traveling the world.  The natural beauty of Nayarit has drawn them in with its mountains, jungles, palm and hardwood forests, the blue Pacific ocean and the wonderful beaches of Jaltemba Bay, and fabulous sunsets and sunrises.  They enjoy exploring the abundance of waterfalls, natural hot springs, and the variety of tropical flora and fauna.

Rick's successful entrepreneurial career includes technology, sales and marketing, and business consulting.  Rick is also a former real estate agent and building contractor.  In his spare time, Rick provides pro bono help to local business owners to increase their sales and expand their businesses.  Rick is active in the Jaltema Bay Rotary Club, a community service group which has assisted in building new kindergarten buildings and provided funds for a preparatory school technology center construction and computer equipment among other projects.

Marilyn's career as an administrator for physician groups gave her experience in customer service, negotiating, finances, property management, human resources and small business management.  She has a consulting and web design business.  Marilyn is active in community service organizations and produced and chaired a successful new charitable event in Jaltemba Bay.

Rick and Marilyn also run their B&B in Guayabitos.
